What are the differences between the program offered to manual therapists and the curriculum designed for massage therapists?
Both curricula are designed for hands-on therapists who are curious about the myofascial body and the deeper questions it can answer—especially “What else could it be?”
Atlas Medic participants are primarily physiotherapists, physiotherapy technologists, and experienced massage therapists working in physio-based environments. The curriculum is offered in 4 levels, each 2 days, with Level 1 delivered as a hybrid (a 4.5-hour webinar followed by an in-person 2 day class).
Massage Therapist courses are primarily geared towards those trained in massage therapists. The curriculum is divided into 3 levels, each 3 days in person.
If I take a course with Atlas Médic, can I continue with one of the massage focused curricula, and vice versa?
Level 1 offers essentially the same content. You may choose to shift over to the other path, either modular or immersive and this is where the curriculum changes. At level 2, the layout of the courses logically changes, as the modular path is 2 days in 4 levels and the intensive is 3 days in 3 levels.
In which language(s) is the curriculum taught?
The Atlas Medic and Studio Blanc curricula is entirely in French.
The curriculum offered with Setsuko is taught in English. The course manual is available in both English and French. Our instructors are also bilingual.
Does SMFT ® offer continuing education accreditation?
Yes. At the end of each level, you will receive a certificate of course completion.
SMFT is accredited by the OPPQ as well as many of the massage therapy associations.
Massage therapists choosing the Atlas Medic modular path may have to take additional steps to obtain accreditation from their association.
Massage therapists choosing the Setsuko immersive path, accreditation will be directly provided by Ecole Setsuko Holistic Health Education.
