The structure of the level 1 course is evolving in order to answer the needs of our current situation. Day one is now being taught online followed by 2 days in person, in the classroom. This may change once then planet is healthier.

3 days 24 hours

Day 1: Theory: Meeting the myofascial body

  • On-line training, pre-requisite to 2 day in person class.
  • Recording will be available early May 2021.

2 days in classroom:

  • Quebec City: June 10-11 and July 15-16
  • Vaudreuil-Dorion (Montreal area): June 19-20 and July 10-11

Level 2: Creating Specificity

  • Vaudreuil-Dorion (Montreal area): October 1-3
  • Quebec City: October 26-28

Level 3: Delving Deeper

In 2007, BetsyAnn Baron and physiotherapist Doreen Killens teamed up to create and co-teach a comprehensive continuing education curriculum for physiotherapists.
Treating the Myofascial Body incorporates Structural Myofascial Therapy®, developed by BetsyAnn Baron and Doreen Killens’ work Mobilizing the Myofascial System. The curriculum, which is taught across Canada and in Switzerland covers the following modules:

  1. Theory: 5 hours

  2. Lower quadrant: 21 hours

  3. Upper quadrant: 21 hours

  4. Advanced: integrating the quadrants: 21 hours

Pre-requisite for either Lower and Upper quadrant courses: Theory (once only)
Pre-requisite for Advanced: Theory, Lower and Upper quadrants
All courses are taught in French unless otherwise noted

Support from your feet up: Key Awareness, Daily Activities and Treatment
(Length 1 hour)


This experiential workshop reveals sensory awareness beginning in the feet and upward throughout the whole body.
During this presentation you will learn:
• Focused Postural Awareness evaluation: key to building new session work for clients with multi-factorial physical issues.
• Self-treatment myofascial foot techniques and exercises as a grounding method to increase fluidity of movement in your clients’ daily activities.

Introduction to Structural Myofascial Therapy

This workshop presents:
• The philosophies of Structural Myofascial Therapy(SMFT)®
• Introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the myofascial system
• Client Evaluation Tool: Postural Somatic Awareness (PSA)
• Techniques: hands-on, prime foundation maneuvers of working deeply in the myofascia.
